About EuropeActive

EuropeActive is over 21 years old and worked previously as the European Health and Fitness Association. In 2015 we changed our name to EuropeActive to better reflect our position as the European Association for fitness and physical activity, and this change signalled the explicit founding of our values from our new name. At the very core of our positioning we serve the European sector with the ambition to get more people, more active, more often. 

Europe defines where we come from, and essentially who we are. We support the fundamental values of the European Union in our respect for human dignity and human rights, freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law. More explicitly as a not-for-profit European Association our values extend to us being demonstrably democratic in our constitution, deriving our legitimacy from our members and stakeholders, and appreciating the diversity of our sector, to work transparently, and with the application of scientific evidence and creative innovation. From this basis we reach out to industry and external partners across the world. 

Active defines our industry, working to make fitness and health-enhancing physical activity accessible and achievable for as many people as possible. We recognise free, fair and innovative competition, as well as constant improvement of skills and evidence-based knowledge as incremental to the success and purpose of our industry. Our mission statement is built on our core values, and our motto of more people, more active, more often reflects our onwards journey and our vision.
